How can each of us 'win the day' ?

This is a copy of a letter I sent to Middlewich Guardian recently. Fiona Bruce (there are two of them!) is a friend and fellow Christian who represents East Cheshire as MP. She has taken a stand, representing a large body of her constituents against Gay marriage and the changes that are planned for the constitution of marriage. She consequently received many complaints from Atheists and the Secular section of society.
The letter then:
It is ironic that Fiona Bruce is accused of putting forward her personal views and beliefs and then people complain that their own personal views cannot be represented. Isn't it obvious that this modern society that we live in is all wrong? And has been since the days of Adam. Personal views are all relative aren't they, so how can each of us be satisfied and win the day - we are all different! Dont you think it is far better to have the creator, sustainer and redeemer for all mankind in ultimate authority - actually, He is anyway! His laws are clear and whether we like it or not we should seek, with all our might to obey them. It is not representing our personal views then, if we seek to obey Him, it is representing something outside, something much bigger and it's actually a person - the person of Jesus. The God of the Bible and the God of original law. Yes, this is my personal view, but only because He is in ultimate authority. Disobedience to him has brought us all what we have today - our rebellion against sin. And man will suffer the penalty, unless each of us turns to Him in repentence.

By the way - God's law says:Genesis 2: 24 For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
New Living Translation It says nothing about Adam and 'Steve' .

What does that Meer Cat say? - Si i i m ple s!.

Kindest regards,

Bible matters

I have decided to re-visit my blog page and use it to explain to others the importance of the truth of the bible.

May I take this opportunity to quote an article from Answers In Genesis Europe.

"The writers of the Bible, inspired as I believe they were, they were nonetheless not inspired to do 21st Century physics." (Archbishop Bingham, 2012)

Now, it is true that the Bible is not a scientific textbook, per se. Observational science, based on repeatable tests, is what builds technology. However, historical science (knowledge concerning the past to explain the present) is based on beliefs concerning history. The Bible is a history book - an account of historical science, if you like - to enable us to think correctly concerning the origin of the universe, the meaning of life, the dilemma of sin, and the solution in Jesus Christ.

Contrary to the Rev. Williams views, in our understanding of any aspect of life (including science), there are only two starting points:

There is someone who knows everything about everything, who has always been there, who never tells a lie, and who reveals to us the information we need to know to come to right conclusions about this universe.
Somehow, fallible man, who doesn't know everything, who hasn't always been there, who doesn't always tell the truth, has to figure out the universe.
If the Bible is really what it claims to be, a revelation from the omnipotent Creator, then the history that it reveals to us will make sense of the evidence of the present, and observational science should confirm this history - and it does!

Sadly, because most Christians have been indoctrinated in a secular system, few realise that the secularists who taught them start with presuppositions that disallow the Bible's revelation.

So these Christians, who may be real born-again Christians, ask questions like "How do you fit dinosaurs into the Bible?" Well, you don't! When we understand the right way to think as a Christian, we know that we should start with the Bible (the revelation from our infinite Creator) and build our thinking (worldview) upon that. Then we have the right way to look at the evidence of the present.

A number of qualified scientists are not ashamed to boldly proclaim that their starting point is the Bible. Among them are scientists at Answers in Genesis. As you read various articles by these godly people, you will see over and over again how observational science confirms that the Bible really is the right starting point and reveals the inconsistency of starting with secular ideas.

Why does all this matter? Because if the history in the Bible concerning our origins were not true, then we would have no reason to trust the Gospel message, which is based in that history. And the Gospel is the heart of what Christians do. Bringing the saving message of the Gospel to a fallen world so that people may be convicted of their sin, repent and be saved for eternity.

"If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved" (Romans 10:9).

"And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent. And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead." (Luke 16:30-31)

Son of Hamas

I've just read 'Son of Hamas' about a true
story of a Hamas leader's son Joseph who recently converted from the Muslim faith to
Christianity. If you haven't learned of him already, Joseph is an Evangelist bringing
thousands upon thousands in the middle East to know Christ.
If you can't read the book, check out the website, download videos or just listen on line.
Truely amazing and such an inspiration. Hope you are filled with joy and are inspired too!
Pass it on! I think he, Joseph, will need prayer!
God Bless

So is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."
